Decoupaged Desk
From the minute I brought her home, she was surrounded in pink. It wasn’t until this year she declared her love for blue. So with a heavy heart I painted her room a pretty blue. Yes, I know she is growing up but I still morn the loss of the pink. It was always my favorite color growing up, so innocent, so pretty, so frivolous. It’s certainly not a color I’d subject hubby to on a daily basis. Okay, I’ll whip the tears away and get back to the real reason for this post.
With all that pink purged, all of her accessories no longer fit. So in true DIY spirit we set off to decoupage, paint and cover with fabric to get the room coordinated again. Do you remember this desk from before?
And here’s what it looks like now.
With only a little bit of mod podge and a few sheets of scrapbooking paper, we gave her desk a whole new look.
And we even sewed pillows and crocheted the edges! Come back soon for a tutorial on that!
What DIY projects have you been up to lately?
I just adored the pink – but am loving the blue and green as well.
Those knobs are fabulous!
What a lucky girl to have such a groovy mom!
Did you mod podge over the pink, or remove it somehow first?
Thanks
I just mod podged over the pink. Super simple!
