It's been a long time

I've been working non stop on getting my studio sale ready that I haven't had time to post. I think I may have just too many projects I'm working on. I keep telling myself, "Focus Jessica, Focus!" But things are coming together. Hopefully the house will be somewhat clean and set up and I can post a little preview of the show tomorrow. Some of the things I have been working on are paintings, photographs, making prints of my paintings, painting on ceramics, making ornaments, updating my custom heirloom jewelry stuff, making tags, and soldering jewelry, oh my! Unfortunately I haven't been so successful in completing my 3-D movable jewelry. However you never know. I may just start working on it one of these nights when I have a bout of insomnia. Maybe I'll find the energy to get something done rather than sit in bed, waiting forever to fall back asleep.

My whole family was sick for about two weeks mid November. It was that nasty cough, sore throat crud and Little Missy and Hubby both developed double ear infections. We had to shout at each other to hear since both of them also had a hard time hearing. But most of all I missed being productive. So I'm now making up for lost time.

The next few weeks after we started feeling better have been great. I was able to go to my friend Van's 30th surprise birthday and see her darling little man. The party was held at Moonstruck Cafe. So of course Little Missy and I had to get some cocoa and a mocha. And they had these adorable gold moons there. Below is the picture. Aren't they just the cutest? Anyway, back to Van...it was good to meet with her current friends and hold her cute little man. Van and I have been friends for 18 years now. She's the oldest friend I have and although we don't see much of each other, she's the type of person I feel completely comfortable with no matter how much time has past. She's working to get her nursing certification right now, and I'm really proud of her. She'd be a great nurse!
Oh and before that hubby took me out on a date sans kids. He took me out to Mozart's Requiem. Hubby gets total bonus points for coming up with the date idea. We had just watched Amadeus which we both liked so we he saw the Requiem was playing at the Elsinore, he called to see if I would like to go. Angela, my sweet friend agreed to watch the kids, and away we went. It's so nice to experience something a bit more civilized for a change. It was refreshing!

We really enjoyed ourselves except the instances that hubby left the autormim to hack his head off. Poor guy missed lots of the opening movement which I thought was the best part due to his nasty cold. At the end we were able to see Mr. Hartman (Kevin Hartman's dad). We rushed off to go pick the kiddos up before we could say hi, but we felt ubber cool that we actually knew someone in the proformance.

Also we were able to see our friends who moved to Texas. They came to visit family and friend during Thanksgiving and they were sweet enough to spend some time with us as well. We all met at Wallery's Pizzeria and the kids had fun getting reacquainted. They were a bit too shy to give hugs but they did enjoy playing video games together. Little man enjoyed his ride with his friend too.

Thanksgiving was good and we spent time with family and also had a quiet celebration on our own. I ate myself silly as usual and we all spent time saying all the things we are thankful for. It's great to hear the kiddos actually be able to put into words the things they are thankful for. Little Missy's top thing was the Earth and Little Man said he was thankful for Batman and Pizza Hut! Hah, now that's 100% American Boy for ya!
