Put Main Street ahead of Wall Street
Valued at over US$700 million, Henry Paulson could be in control of $700 billion with no oversight whatsoever. Trust him enough to control $700 billion of taxpayer's money? Hell, I wouldn't even trust him enough to watch my kids for an hour.Join MoveOn.org and sign a petition to put Main Street America first.
These are my thoughts...
We need to hold failing companies accountable by putting limits on corporate profits and providing oversight by a coalition of leaders. We need to bail out single-home-owners who are in foreclosure and start prosecuting banks and brokers who deceived the public. Most of all, the money should not be under the control of the secretary of the Treasury who was appointed and not elected by the people, but instead be directed by a coalition of Democrat and Republican elected officials.
We need to not make a decision in haste that may haunt us for decades to come, but to instead have a gathering of the minds and make a decision for the good, hardworking people of this country. Haven't we learned from the past about rash decisions?
